Old State Magistrate
A discussion of the Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrates at Old State Saloon in Eagle, Idaho

Hey everyone, I know I have been pretty negligent with substack posts of late and keep claiming I will be more diligent with them. I assure you that is my intent! Especially to you legends who are paid subscribers, I apologize. I was fulfilling some merch orders today and was thinking about a number of topics on my mind. One of them, as is typical for me, is the Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrates.
I was texting with another former fbi agent last night. Someone I got to know well and one of the rare people who consistently kept in touch with me after I was suspended. They eventually had their clearance suspended as well. It likely won’t shock you to know that they have a lot in common with me and the other publicly named Suspendables. A public profession of faith in Christ. A bold resistance to the government mandate of injecting an Emergency Use Authorization only “vaccine” into their body. A clear recognition of fbi abuse of authority. Protected disclosures to Congress.
Anyways, we texted a bit about the Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrate and that is what prompted this post.
Back in May I was invited to come and present at Old State Saloon in Eagle, Idaho. I was introduced to Mark, the proprietor of Old State, via a connection on X. Mark brought me out to Idaho. I got in late Memorial Day night. We stayed up even later talking and getting to know each other a bit better. Mark has his own story that is well worth your time and certainly fits the description of what it means to be a Suspendable. Not all of what he discusses here had transpired yet, but some of it was in motion.
The next morning he had me over for breakfast with him and most of his family. We had some great conversation and I ended up chatting with some of his kids for a couple hours. Mark is certainly a kindred spirit and it was a blessing to get to know and chat with his family for a bit. They, in no small part, kindled a desire for me to want to move to Idaho 😂 It’s hard finding people who are willing to risk their comfort and comfort zone for what was right. Mark pursues the truth in accordance with a biblical world view and leads his family in that pursuit.
By the time we were done with breakfast, it was nearly lunch time, but I wasn’t due to speak until that evening. With questions of my own and advice from Mark’s kids, I decided to head to Table Rock in Boise, ID. On the way up, I was listening to a sermon to get my mind right for the presentation ahead. It’s entitled Why We Believe: Defiance to Tyranny is Obedience to God. I think I stole a quote or two for my presentation later. To my surprise, there is a large cross on top of Table Rock.
Considering all that had transpired to bring to this point, it was a fitting journey. I had been suspended from the fbi for utilizing the Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrates. I had recently finished my 40 day fast. I now was brought to Idaho by another Believer and would be presenting on that very doctrine in short order. It was a humbling and fulfilling experience.
Before I had arrived in Idaho, I had outlined and planned what I was going to speak about regarding the Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrates. By the time I got done hiking up to and back down from Table Rock, I had substantial changes to make to my outline. I thought I was “ready,” and in large part I was. But, when the Holy Spirit prompts, it is foolish and disobedient to ignore that prompting.
“And he said to them, “Is a lamp brought in to be put under a basket, or under a bed, and not on a stand? For nothing is hidden except to be made manifest; nor is anything secret except to come to light. If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear." And he said to them, "Pay attention to what you hear: with the measure you use, it will be measured to you, and still more will be added to you. For to the one who has, more will be given, and from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.”” -Mark 4:21-25
I have little doubt that there is much left to be explored and learned about the Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrates, but here is the presentation I gave. Most of you are relatively familiar with the background information that has led to this path, so you can skip ahead about 37 minutes if you don’t want to listen again to the fbi’s retaliation towards me for making protected disclosures.
I reference the book The Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrates: A Proper Resistance to Tyranny and a Repudiation of Unlimited Obedience to Civil Government by Matt Trewhella, which can be bought at his website. There are also a lot of other resources available there. Somehow he also heard of my presentation and they have it posted as well. Oddly enough, we attended the church he pastors, Mercy Seat Christian Church, a few times after we arrived back in Wisconsin. I had not yet testified and we weren’t as open back then as we are now about everything that has happened.
A few other resources that have enriched my understanding, and Lord willing, I’ll dive into more on Substack are listed below, although there are plenty of others:
Lex Rex: The Law is King (Christian Heritage)
Vindiciae Contra Tyrannos: A Defense of Liberty Against Tyrants (Christian Heritage)
Slaying Leviathan: Limited Government and Resistance in the Christian Tradition
The Lesser Magistrates: In Modern, Updated English
The Magdeburg Confession: 13th of April 1550 AD (this was translated into English because of Trewhella’s efforts)
Forget Florida. Idaho suits you! 😁
